The Mediterranean has been shaping the way we build our homes for millennia
That is why, even though styles change and technology allows us greater creative and constructive flexibility, there are features that remain, such as overhangs that protect us from the sun in summer and allow it in during winter; viewpoints and terraces, to enjoy the outdoors all year round; or the presence of water, from the Roman impluvium to modern swimming pools. Water as a constructive element and backdrop, and vegetation as an inseparable part of the act of living.

A Mediterranean Community
The Kove is essentially a modern Mediterranean village, with its shaded streets and light-coloured buildings, with wood ever-present and a natural layout dictated by the terrain, creating common spaces, corners and squares that foster community and provide a framework for shared living. Areas that do not limit, but rather expand the possibilities of the homes and enhance the opportunity for a social life inherent to the character and climate of the Costa del Sol.

The architecture of Manuel Clavel
In this context, Manuel Clavel's architecture brings a deep understanding of local cultural dynamics and traditional architecture, but also a very special sensitivity regarding the residential development's integration into the landscape. This sensitivity is also reflected in the design of The Kove, where each line reveals a new perspective of the complex, but whose importance transcends aesthetics: each curve, the size of the overhangs, the orientation of the terraces, even the layout of the buildings themselves. All of this not only influences the way we inhabit the project, it also determines our routes and the view we see every day, directly impacting the privacy of the homes and their energy efficiency. Because design is much more than what we see.
