Torrelodones offers the best of both worlds. Firstly, its proximity to Madrid, just 30 minutes away by car on the motorway, brings all the benefits that the capital city has to offer, with the peace of mind of having a commuter railway station. Secondly, the town is located in a setting of great natural value.
More than half the municipal land is occupied by protected areas, including the Biosphere Reserve of the Upper Manzanares River Basin and the Upper Manzanares River Basin and the Middle Course of the Guadarrama Regional Parks. This means it has a large network of paths and trails which, together with sights such as the Watchtower, the Canto del Pico Palace and the Gasco Dam, making for an attractive municipal heritage.
