González & Jacobson is a renowned Marbella architecture studio with more than 30 years of existence. Its founders, Carlos González Mora and Rodolfo Amieva Jacobson, have extensive experience and a unique conception of architecture. Both architects share their passion for architecture and this is reflected in the artistic and technical balance of their projects, where they seek perfection in every detail and strive to achieve a perfect harmony between functionality, beauty and sustainability.
In their previous career and after founding the studio, Gonzalez and Jacobson bring together a wealth of experience spanning national and international projects, which has allowed them to develop a global vision and adapt to different cultural and geographical contexts.
Thanks to this broad and comprehensive perspective, the studio has established itself as a benchmark of professionalism on the Costa del Sol, standing out for its innovative approach, its commitment to integration and its firm commitment to sustainability. Its work is characterised by its uniqueness and versatility, understood as an agent of social transformation, capable of interacting with our environment. For this reason, from the beginning, they have approached their work "with the firm intention of improving our world and the lives of its inhabitants". In our project, Ipanema, they have been inspired by the glamour of the Brazilian resorts of the 50s and 60s and have updated it, adapting it to the climatic conditions of Estepona.
The result is an avant-garde residential with an unmistakable identity, very much in line with their desire to contribute to "a real, integral and honest architecture, capable of listening, observing and responding to the demands of a society in continuous and vertiginous evolution". For our part, we highlight, in addition to their impeccable work, their involvement in the development of the project and their open-mindedness, thanks to an attitude that they sum up as follows: "We embrace each project with the same enthusiasm as the first day, as a unique assignment, with its own demands and idiosyncrasies, which opens up a wide range of opportunities for us to continue learning and growing, professionally and humanly."
Andalusia is home to leading architectural firms that have collaborated with Kronos Homes. One of them is González & Jacobson, with 30 years of experience in high-end residential projects. The work, taking into account the location of the office, has been developed mainly in the province of Malaga.
The origins of González & Jacobson go back to 1993. That year, Venezuelan landscape architect Carlos A. González Mora and Mexican architect Rodolfo Amieva Jacobson decided to set up an architectural services company in Marbella. In a corporate video, Amieva Jacobson recalls that "Carlos and I were working in another architect's studio when we began to consider starting our own architectural firm".
"Our first client, patron and benefactor was someone who, unfortunately, is no longer with us and whom I remember with great affection: the Italian Armando Filippa. He anticipated the construction boom on the Costa del Sol," explains Rodolfo Amieva Jacobson.
In the 1970s Filippa fell in love with the Marbella lifestyle. So much so that he moved to Marbella and began his career as a property developer on the Costa del Sol. And he entrusted some of his projects to the architects González and Jacobson. Among them:
The Marbella firm is currently headed by Rodolfo Amieva Jacobson and Diego Macías Domínguez. The latter, a native of Mairena de Alcor (Seville), has extensive knowledge of architecture, urban planning, land management, expert appraisals, business management, etc. He began working with González & Jacobson in 2009. Three years later, he is a partner of his former boss and is proud to lead "a company that stands out for the quality of its design", he says.
Today, the firm is made up of a large multidisciplinary team of professionals covering all areas of architecture, which Amieva Jacobson refers to as his family. A staff of workers and collaborators that has reinvented itself since the studio was founded. "Of course, we have entered the era of new technologies, 3D, renderings and virtual reality," observes the Mexican architect.
His is an active architecture characterised by its versatility, the attention to detail, the selection of materials and colours, the play of light and shadow... The result is projects with their own personality, unique, that provoke sensations. But different from each other. "We treat all our work with great affection and individually. You can see that they come from the same hand; however, none of them is a repetition of another," says Rodolfo Amieva Jacobson.
For his part, Macías Domínguez adds that "at González & Jacobson we differentiate ourselves by quality from the moment we begin an assignment. And another of our hallmarks is that we translate almost 100% of the previous designs into the final project".
In the same way, the Malaga firm is respectful of the environment. "In architecture, the most important of today's demands is sustainability. We have opted for this path and we try to make our projects more sustainable and environmentally friendly", Amieva Jacobson specifies. A purpose that they put into practice through two seals of approval:
González & Jacobson's portfolio ranges from architectural services to urban planning, including interior design, landscaping and other works that include reports, reports, technical certificates, building inspections, appraisals and valuations, consultancy...
The former includes residential and tertiary projects. And in the specific case of multi-family buildings, the study highlights the following:
As can be seen, most of the residential projects have been developed in Marbella and the province of Malaga. However, the firm has an international projection. In addition to Spain, it has experience in Angola, Brazil, Morocco, Mexico, Nigeria, Norway and South Africa.
True to its philosophy of working with the best local architectural firms, Kronos Homes has commissioned one of its projects to González & Jacobson. Located in the Malaga town of La Cala de Mijas, the Ipanema residential complex reinterprets the exclusivity of the best Brazilian architecture on the Costa del Sol.
When it comes to the relationship that exists with clients like Kronos Homes, the study points out that commitment and respect are absolute. "Our priority is to empathise and interact with them in order to respond to their needs and desires. We establish an intimate relationship, collaboration and permanent dialogue with the recipients of our projects, with whom we have a very special bond," concludes the Marbella office.
